Why We Built This
Every social platform was built for people who stay put. Your feed is curated around your city, your follower graph is built from your hometown, and the algorithm keeps you inside your existing circle.
But what about the people who move? The solo traveler arriving in a new city with no local connections. The digital nomad who just touched down in Lisbon. The professional heading to a conference in a city they've never visited. The expat who has built a life somewhere far from home.
For them — for us — existing social platforms fall short. They're great at keeping you connected to people you already know. They're terrible at helping you meet the people you haven't met yet, in the places you're heading to next.
That's the gap GB7 Social was built to close.
What GB7 Social Is
GB7 Social is a social platform that moves with you. At its core, it's a place to share your life and your travels — posts, photos, music, check-ins, moments. But layered on top of that is something no other platform has built properly: a live travel map that shows you who is in your next city, or who is heading there at the same time as you.
Add a travel plan — "I'll be in Tokyo from August 12–20" — and instantly see others with overlapping plans. Connect before you arrive, not after you leave. Build the kind of real-world friendships that start online but happen in person.
Everything is opt-in. We store city-level location only — never precise GPS coordinates. You control who can see you on the map, down to followers-only or connections-only. Privacy is not an afterthought here; it's load-bearing.

To make the world feel smaller — not by compressing it, but by connecting the people crossing it.
We believe the best social network isn't the one with the most users. It's the one that produces the best conversations, the most unexpected friendships, and the most memorable real-world encounters. We're building toward that.

GB7 Social is available on the web at gb7social.com and as a native iOS app. Features include:

Who's Behind It
GB7 Social is built and operated by GB7 Holding, founded by Grispin Bauknecht. It's a small, focused operation — built with a clear point of view and without the bloat that comes from committee design.
We're not trying to be everything to everyone. We're trying to be the best platform for people who travel, explore, and want to connect with others doing the same.
