Age Policy
1. Minimum Age Requirement
You must be at least 16 years old to register for and use GB7 Social. This applies to all features of the platform, including but not limited to creating a profile, publishing posts, participating in conversations, and accessing content shared by other users.
By creating an account, you confirm that you are 16 years of age or older. If you provide false information about your age during registration, we may suspend or permanently close your account without notice.
2. Why We Require This Age
The 16+ minimum age is not arbitrary — it reflects both legal requirements and our commitment to community safety:
- GDPR (EU/EEA): Under the General Data Protection Regulation, member states may set the digital consent age between 13 and 16. We apply the stricter 16-year threshold across the entire platform to ensure consistent protection for all users in the EU and beyond.
- UK GDPR: In the United Kingdom, the age of digital consent is 13, but we apply our global 16+ standard to all users regardless of location.
- Community safety: Our platform features — including public profiles, direct messaging, location sharing, and social interactions — are designed for users who can meaningfully engage with and understand privacy settings, online safety, and community guidelines.
- Content: GB7 Social may include mature travel photography, discussions of adult topics, and user-generated content that is not appropriate for children.
3. Age Verification
We ask for your date of birth during registration. We use this information to:
- Prevent users under 16 from completing registration.
- Apply appropriate data-processing rules based on your age and location.
- Determine which features and privacy defaults are enabled for your account.
We do not perform hard document-based age verification at registration. However, we reserve the right to request additional verification at any time if we have reason to believe that an account holder does not meet the age requirement.
4. Accounts Found to Be Under 16
If we determine, or are credibly informed, that an account belongs to a person under 16 years of age, we will take the following steps:
- Immediately suspend access to the account.
- Delete all personal data associated with the account in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
- Remove all content (posts, comments, messages) published by the account, to the extent that this is technically feasible.
- Issue a permanent ban on the email address and device identifiers used to create the account.
We will not provide notice before taking these steps if we believe that doing so would delay the protection of the minor or others on the platform.
5. Parental Guidance
If you are a parent or legal guardian and believe that a minor in your care has created an account on GB7 Social, please contact us immediately:

We will investigate the report and take appropriate action, including deletion of the account and all associated personal data, as quickly as possible and typically within 72 hours of a verified report.
6. Reporting an Underage User
If you encounter a profile or content that leads you to believe a user is under 16, please report it using one of the following methods:
- Use the Report button on the user's profile page and select "Underage user" as the reason.
- Email safety@gb7social.com with the username and any relevant context.
All reports are treated confidentially. We will never reveal who submitted a report.
7. Children Under 13
GB7 Social is not directed at, and does not knowingly collect personal data from, children under the age of 13 under any circumstances. If we learn that we have collected personal data from a child under 13 without verifiable parental consent, we will delete that information immediately and close the account. This applies globally, including in jurisdictions where a lower digital consent age may apply.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Age Policy from time to time to reflect changes in applicable law or our platform. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. If the changes are material, we will notify active users through the platform or by email. Your continued use of GB7 Social after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
